Hailing from New York, Nouvèl is a songwriter and performing artist rooted in the D.M.V. area. An up and comer with raw talent and authentic chops, Nouvèl’s sound defies modern genres. His story begins at the crossroads of R&B, hip-hop, and soul.
Nouvèl’s core instrument is his voice. Smooth and often hypnotic, his vocals blur the lines between spoken word and harmony. Subtle vibrato and natural rasp create a rich texture that naturally layers across multiple genres. His vocal capacity and range seem to be limitless yet mature. Melody and chord progressions often come by way of keyboard. With a natural ear for music, Nouvèl’s self-taught method of songwriting gives his sound a grassroots yet polished feel.
Don’t let his accessible lyrics fool you. A true songwriter, storytelling and life experience are the foundation of Nouvèl’s lyricism. He may at first appear to be a typical hip-hop persona flaunting bling, women, and fur coats. If listeners take a closer look, they’ll discover a true artist willing to put masculinity under the lens. Broken hearts and old flames counter the expected. In Nouvel’s story, having the courage to reveal vulnerability exposes true strength.
