Alexander from Alexander by Odd Beholder, Long Tall Jefferson

Following "Self-Checkout" comes "Alexander", the second joint single from Long Tall Jefferson and Odd Beholder. Their collab EP "Lost in Communication" will be released on May 5, 2023.

«Alexander» is an homage to flamboyant guys on the dancefloor, an ode to the ones who don’t take themselves too seriously. Cheers to all the brave gender benders who dare wear a pink kimono and silky shorts to a pool party!

Alexander caught the eyes of the main protagonist. Odd Beholder, usually known for her frail and high voice, is singing in the lower registers as her character slowly approaches the man she desires, playing with the notion of hunter and hunted, inverting stereotypical gender roles.

This song is not afraid of bouncy basslines, the hooks pop as Odd Beholder purrs over the funky instrumental with Long Tall Jefferson effortlessly turning into quite the bass player and haunting the choruses on vocoder. «Alexander» is just sexy enough to still be relatable and fun.

It is light and easy, danceable but also ready to comfort you on a sunny Saturday morning after you drank a little too much the night before. The haikus you improvised over some shots were not as great as you remember, but don’t beat yourself up about that, you had a great time. And sometimes, all you need is a gentle disco song to listen to while you watch your Alka-Seltzer dissolve in a glistening glass of water.
