"Oh, just peachy"

Again and Again is about that kind of twisting feeling you can get in your head and you turn around ideas. There's kind of a jumble of thoughts at times, and that's the inspiration for the layered, repetitive vocals as the song progresses.

Beasts was inspired because Dillon asked me why I tuned by guitar down a half a step, and I thought it's because I'm a bigger beast. The rest just kind of filled in around that.

Disposable was me thinking about all the garbage humanity produces and thinking about how one day I'll be that garbage. Then I can live in the ocean or a landfill or whatever.

A Little Further was inspired by thinking about the fate that awaits these super rich guys. Maybe they can just buy their influence into the pearly gates. What about those really fat who do the slow BBQ stuff? Seven deadly sins, get it? R.J. asked about regular guys, so I added that verse. Maybe we'll all get another try.

Another Time and Another Place is just thinking about how great things could be if we planted some seeds and one day could walk in the shade of giant oak trees. i.e. full blown socialism.

Iconography of the New Gods was inspired by listening to Yo La Tango while walking along the high-capacity power lines. I wondered if someone would see these big structures and think they were constructed by the gods. Maybe our remnants will be pondered by others?

Thankful is just about being thankful and having a good little bass riff.

They was originally about the devil, like, he's not such a bad guy, right? Anyway, I think we can all get along or whatever.

Forgiven is about how maybe someone could forgive me for being such a rascal. Maybe we could be forgiven for the way we're treated the developing world, or the planet, or animals or whatever. That'd be nice, wouldn't it?

In the Spring is just the upbeat closer. I really want to drive up the west coast again, the vibes are amazing.
