Stardust by Oh November
Okay let's be real here. Making an album professionally costs a ton of money. I had big plans for this here record, put a ton of work into grants hoping to make it some sort of big deal.
That didn't pan out. I felt both severe disappointment and relief upon receiving those rejections. Something inside me knew it was okay to keep it simple. It was okay to figure it out myself. To have fun being creative and not worry too much about how well I was following "industry standards". it's art for christ's sake. It's meant to be innovative and whatever it needs to be no?
So no, I didn't take out all the plosives, The timing isn't perfect and the mastering is... well it's been mastered aright?
But I did it! I made an album. I parented two children and helped my partner recover from a debiliating injury and I ran a micro-bakery and I always... always made time for this project.
Because, music is the key to my path. It is where I find honesty, emotional truths, and some kind of cosmic connectedness. It's where I understand that I am Stardust, and everything matters a lot and not at all at the same time. We are all in this beautiful mess together so let's make some art about it ya?
