Debris Sides by Old Amica
In October 2011 we released our first full-length album 'Debris'. Someone close passed away two years earlier and music and writing quickly became very important in dealing with that. I wanted to document it in some way, even if it was confused, broken and just fragmented thoughts moving in circles. Just thoughts drifting like debris.
We wrote and recorded a lot and ended up with more songs than we could fit in one album. So some of them had to sit back and wait.
In October 2023 - for the album’s 12 year anniversary - we went back to listen to these songs. And we instantly felt that these songs deserve to outlive the dying hard drive which was their home for so long.
'Debris Sides' is possibly more confused, broken and fragmented than its 12 year old sibling, but also more direct. Everything is out in the open, for better or for worse.
