Baska means Others.
Mamer is an excellent figure in Chinese contemporary music landscape. Rooted in the fertile soil of national music, he has presented the audience plenty of modern music full of his own style.
Mamer went to Beijing and founded the legendary band IZ Band in 2002. “IZ” means “footprint” in Kazak. Mamer is not only an excellent musician but also a great teacher on Dombra of many famous musicians. In the year of 2008, he gained an international reputation for his album “Eagle” released by the well-known British label Real World.
Besides IZ Band, Mamer and Zhang Dong formed another 5 bands named Bande, Kunakar, 51-Rayon, Mekrop and TAT. Though with the same members, the music style of each band can be easily distinguished from each other.
