Ol Man Proffitt was born in South Louisiana and raised in an oil patch that stretched from London to Los Angeles. His songs draw on his bayou upbringing and express the wit that's a main ingredient in his Cajun culture. OMP lives in the mountain hamlet of Idyllwild, a mile high above Palm Springs.
