Dreams by Ophélie Gaillard

Ophélie Gaillard is renowned for her multi-faceted approach to her interpretations (Bach Suites on Baroque Cello, Victoires de la Musique 2002, Vivaldi Sonatas, ..Baroque Cello, Britten Suites, Modern Cello, Complete Fauré etc.). After a concert at London's Wigmore Hall, she met the American composer and arranger Craig Leon (who has made a name for himself with a disc of arrangements of Famous Melodies for Violin and Orchestra performed by Joshua Bell).

Craig Leon asked her to record an album for cello and orchestra, with arrangements of famous pieces and melodies, from Satie to Fauré, including Chopin and Italian opera. The recording took place at the end of 2008 at Abbey Road with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
Ophélie Gaillard left her usual rigorous interpretation behind and let her Goffriller cello sing magnificently, making way for a splendid programme.

Ophélie Gaillard est reconnue pour son approche plurielle de ses interprétations (Suites de Bach sur Violoncelle Baroque, Victoires de la Musique 2002, Sonates de Vivaldi, ..Violoncelle Baroque, Suites de Britten, Violoncelle Moderne, Intégrale Fauré etc.). Après un concert au Wigmore Hall à Londres, elle rencontre le compositeur et arrangeur américain Craig Leon (qui s'est notamment fait remarqué par un disque d'arrangements de Mélodies Célèbres pour Violon et Orchestre interprétées par Joshua Bell).

Craig Leon lui a proposé de réaliser un Album pour Violoncelle et Orchestre, avec des arrangements de Pièces et Mélodies célèbres, de Satie à Fauré en passant par Chopin, l'Opéra Italien. L'enregistrement a eu lieu fin 2008 à Abbey Road avec le Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
Ophélie Gaillard, quittant sa rigueur d'interprétation habituelle s'est laissée convaincre et fait chanter magnifiquement son Goffriller, laissant place de toute évidence à un splendide programme très Grand Public.
