I'm bored with life
Waiting to go
I'll board the train from here to Chicago
Thinking of my family and the folks I leave behind
I know I can't ease my worried mind

My dog is sick
He's sicker than a dog
I'd sic him on you but his head's stuck in a log
He used to chase the squirrels, now he's deaf and dumb and blind

Its easier to stay drunk all the time
And this world both hateful & kind
Will never prey upon my worried mind

I heard a hymn that had me falling to the floor
Where I saw the scraps of food on which the righteous dined
