After his first collaboration with Piotr Kurek and a plenty of solo tapes, Sylvia Monnier return with Sebastian Solomon under Shrine Fuchsia for their 3rd record together.
This special tape consists of two progressive 20min tracks.
“Garden” is the most percussive of both sides. Subtle industrial atonal modular grooves cohabit with immersively contoured ambient electronics. The result is a fascinating evolving progressive cold track, sometimes close to progressive modular electronic, like Conrad Schnitzler or Keith Fullerton Whitman.
Side B remind the best of environmental Japanese ambient. Warmer than the 1st side, this piece is a perfect contrast, a delicately laid out sonic landscape. “Basement” sometimes feels like a Yoshio Ojima or Hiroshi Yoshimura confined with a modular.
In the end, this 40min are a floating visit of 2 gigantics open space structures.
