Part plancton-punk-comedy-duo and part art project, Oromocto Diamond have been together since 2008. The music, lyrics and songs we write are about people and cities. It's an everlasting quest to find out why we do what we do and why we live where we live.
After 12 months of waiting, Oromocto Diamond is back in Europe for a series of shows and to finish composing our next album, Flin Flon. We started to write it last spring on the first day of the the O to F tour in Brussels, just around the corner from the Métro Botanique. Everywhere we went on that tour in 2016 had a really strong impact on the ambition and the direction of the music. We have golden friends that influenced us beyond belief. The art they create, the places they live and all the help they offered us along the way. Everything was so intense and real that we wanted to come back and finish the creation with the same people that inspired the songs in the first place.

À la fois duo humoristique-plancton-punk et projet artistique, Oromocto Diamond existe depuis 2008. Notre musique, nos paroles et nos chansons parlent de gens et de villes. Une quête perpétuelle de peu de mots, de beaucoup d'images et toujours sur le même accord. Après 11 mois d'hiver nord-américain, Oromocto Diamond est de retour en Europe pour une série de spectacles et pour terminer la composition de son prochain album, Flin Flon. Nous avons commencé à l’écrire au printemps dernier, le premier jour de la tournée O to F à Bruxelles, juste à côté du Métro Botanique. Tous les endroits où nous sommes allés pendant l'hallucinant pèlerinage 2016 nous ont ouvert l'esprit et ont influencé la direction de notre musique. Nous avons des amis en or et tout ce qu'ils font avec leur temps et avec leurs mains est incroyable. De la peinture partout, des vinyles qui traînent, des sous-sols humides, des amplis de basse crasseux et de l'aide extraordinaire. Une fois sur la route, entre deux trains et trois nuits blanches, Oromocto Diamond devient invincible. C'est le retour aux sources de ce qui a inspiré les chansons de Flin Flon. Rongo-Rongo, Bolivar, Radio Voice, Atlantis, Zuzu, Ostrogoto, Oromo People, Poli Opposti, Métro Botanique...

This music was composed and recorded in 2016 and 2017, while on the O to F Euro tour and in the Plancton Studio in Limoilou Québec by Drack Sumom. Douras Nim was nowhere to be found so Sam Drouin mixed the waves and Jim Dumas did the mastering on a Sunday. Sam Murdock wrote the songs and had feverish dreams of yellow for weeks. Gina drifted along to harmonize the Atlantis. Kira appeared like a ghost on Amigovio. Jane saved us all with her keys. Groun did the mystic dance beat and trumpet of cameroon.David Mon Days and Renegat Records made this object possible in France. Seb Leduc and P572 helped opo in Limoilou.
