Oceans by Oscill_Ether
Alongside its sister release Beyond, these 2 pieces formed part of a 2 hour all hardware live performance on Yonder Festival’s Ambient stage, Nov 2021.
The set itself consisted of 7 different movements, and again like Beyond, these are (another) 2 of them. The pieces here are excerpts from the main stereo mix recorded from the FOH board at the performance.
Like Swells served as the opener to the set, allowing the performance to unfurl and settle with patience and space, and along with Bunker, consists of the blurring of acoustic sources via granular processing techniques and fx pedal manipulation, interwoven with additional synthetic textures and lo end foundations.
Bunker was buried deeper in the set, acting as a coda for the introduction, albeit with a darker and more contemplative tone, tying the set together while stepping away from the mood established at the opening of the show.
While both pieces utilise identical source material, each differs in length and processing style, resulting in a variation of the same theme.
