Drain Away by Koto Doom

Originally conceived as a part of my synth-metal project OUTWORLD, Drain Away marks a turning point, capturing the transition from synth-driven heaviness to the raw, distorted power of Koto Doom.
Drain Away is a raw glimpse into twisted childhood memories, blending heavy riffs with haunting nostalgia. This mini-release features Drain Away, a powerful mix of aggression and melody, where all the riffs were originally crafted on the analog Yamaha CS01, and Mank@#t (Koto Doom Remix) — a dark, reimagined track from the early Outworld sessions, now brought to life with the crushing tones of a heavily modified taishogoto.

Koto Doom blends the deep, distorted echoes of doom metal with the sharp, cutting tones of a heavily modified taishogoto. Inspired by Electric Wizard, Sunn O))), and Melvins, it captures the clash of ancient and modern, physical and spectral. The sound comes from the 琴nailgun — a custom instrument bridging traditional Japanese music and heavy, psychedelic underground.
