Inner Resynthesis by Pablo Palacio

Composed for ICMC 2014 Athens, and premiered at the Onassis Center. The music is completely generated from scratch using a software implementation of dynamic stochastic synthesis, an algorithmic  non standard synthesis procedure conceived initially by Iannis Xenakis. It includes several extensions of the Xenakian algorithm such as flock simulations to produce both duration structure and timbral fluctuations in computer generated sound, resulting in a wide gamut of sonic entities. An original version of the algorithm and the whole piece were written in Supercollider language.

Pablo Palacio is a music composer, researcher and director of Instituto Stocos, a project focused on the transfer of concepts between art and science in a performative context. His work focuses on the establishment of perceptual connections between algorithmic processes, physical movement, and sonic images. He is a very active composer for dance, designing multiple interactive musical instruments
