Neptune is the windiest planet in the solar system. Cold winds of frozen methane whip at supersonic speeds (more than 2,000 kms/hr) across the dark Ice Giant. Similar to Uranus, its atmosphere is mostly made up of hydrogen (as well as helium and methane). Its distinct blue colour means some other unknown component might also be a part of its atmosphere.
Neptune is the densest of the Gas Giants. Most of its mass is made up of a hot fluid (an ocean) that is contained beneath frozen cloud coverage by incredibly high levels of pressure.
Neptune is the only planet in the solar system that is never visible to the naked eye– perhaps this is also why we know the least about it.
I have been making music in one form or another since the mid-1970s, but only started experimenting and creating electronic music at the turn of the millennium. Bite The Wax Tadpole was my first project, but I also play the bass professionally and record and tour throughout the year (viruses allowing). I now release ambient electronic and field recording music under my own name.
