Dewdrop from Harpedelique by Perolas

'Dewdrop,' is the first release from Perolas' upcoming debut album, 'HARPEDELIQUE' and an original composition by Liana Perillo. The song was arranged by the band for voice, electroacoustic harp, electric guitar, synthesizer and drums. Musically, the song was inspired by the Indian classical rhythmic cycle of 10 beats, and diminishing cycles of 5 beats within a phrase. The lyrics depict the formation of a dewdrop, whereby the collision of warm air on a cool blade of grass creates a water bead, fragile and impermanent. Lyricist, Liana, likens this natural occurrence to relationships between people, and how two opposites can collide to create something beautiful.

Perolas brings the harp into the contemporary realm, coupling this sonorous instrument with analogue effects and a mix of acoustic and electronic instruments.

From up-tempo beats to otherworldly soundscapes, Perolas brings a fusion of cultures to original compositions and musical arrangements, which earnt the band the award for:
