Bassist Milt Hinton is celebrated for a stage and studio career that intersected with countless legendary musicians for and incredible seven decades. This recording honors Hinton's legacy with solo bass tunes performed on his 18th-century Italian bass, now part of Oberlin Conservatory's permanent collection.

The former Principal Bass with the Lansing Symphony Orchestra and the American Sinfonietta, Peter served as Professor of Jazz Studies and Double Bass at Oberlin Conservatory of Music from 1996-2020 and directed the Oberlin Jazz Septet.
Currently he is Professor of Double Bass and Jazz Studies at the University of Wisconsin- Madison.
