Malenki Minki by Philippe Ollivier

11th of May 2008 : I enter the forbidden zone of Malenki Minki, Chernobyl, for the first time. Disorientated, I turn to improvisation to express my emotions.
All is recorded in this irreversibly silent expanse of time and space.


Le 11 mai 2008, je suis conduit pour la première fois à Malenki Minki, dans la zone interdite de Tchernobyl. Sur place, en une longue séance d’improvisation que j'enregistre comme on prend des notes, je laisse se dire l’émotion qui me saisit. C’est le son de cette journée que je vous offre ici, comme le carnet d’un voyage marquant dans l’étrange étendue de temps et d’espace qui fait suite à l’irréversible.


2008年5月11日、フィリップ・オ リヴィエはチェルノブイリの立ち入 り禁止地域にあるマリエンキ・ミン キの地に初めて足を踏み入れた。 現地にてインプロヴィゼーションの 長いセッションを行い、その演奏を メモを取るかのごとく録音したのだ が、その中でフィリップは感じるが ままに音を走らせている。 その音源こそが今私たちが手にして いるこの作品、不可逆性に続く時間 と空間の奇妙な広がりへの類稀なる 旅の記録であるかのようだ。

Philippe Ollivier has had a diverse musical career, from traditional music to contemporary music. A genuinely iconoclastic bandoneon player who mixes acoustic technique with electronics, this self-taught musician creates original compositions for films and theatre, contemporary danse and other various genres. In association with Christophe Baratay, he programmed Logelloop, a live looping software.
