From Overseas is the experimental ambient project of French composer Kévin Séry.

Born in the remote French overseas region of Réunion Island, Séry moves fluidly between his homeland and continental Europe, collecting inspiration and shaping his sound through these shifting landscapes.

With a stunning master by Stephan Mathieu, From Overseas unveils his debut full-length album, Home, on PITP. Home is a journey through vast and vivid soundscapes where shadow and light intertwine. Ambient textures dissolve into post-rock guitar passages, which then drift toward melodic drone and noise before circling back again. The result is a collection of deeply moving compositions that are soothing yet powerful, sparking emotion across the full spectrum, evoking dreamlike wanderings and inspiring reflection on the very nature of the place we each call home.

The album’s fourth track, “Maloya Tales,” is a heartfelt tribute to Séry’s birthplace, offering listeners a glimpse into the mystical rhythms of traditional Réunionese Maloya music.
