"These songs materialized as I got more and more into breakbeat hardcore and jungle in the last couple of years. I'd go jogging around my neighborhood listening to Omni Trio, Foul Play, Skanna, Bay B Kane. The only way you can run uninterrupted in the area without having to watch for cars at 4-way stops after every block is if you go in circles around this big cemetery. Parts of the graveyard loop have unreal views of Manhattan. It looks neither close nor far away, sort of off, the wrong size, and has a pumped-up futuristic menace that gives me a rush. Little blocks of pulsing diodes in the distance. It's got a distinct glow that leaks from the innards like a gaming keyboard." - Crime Friend
Crime Friend is the moniker of Queens, NY-based musician and visual artist Will Simpson. 'Vol. 1' serves as the producer's debut EP for Athens, GA label Primordial Void.
