What is to happen when German Lofi heavyweight LESKY and UK guitarist Waywell come together? Exactly – a new hybrid sound we like to call Lofi yacht pop. Over the course of seven tracks, Whitecaps makes for the perfect soundtrack for imaginary beach cruises & pool parties alike.
Whitecaps – for those us of us who don’t spend their days surfing – are what you call waves with a broken and white foaming crest. An imagery that depicts the EP’s vibe perfectly.
The two expats LESKY and Waywell met in Tbilisi, Georgia where they shared a studio space. LESKY’s chilled but crisp production and Waywell’s dreamy guitar riffs were a perfect match from scratch! After a few weeks of long night-time sessions, they had crafted a wavy mix of lofi and cosmic with a subliminal yacht rock vibe.
