This song is layered as my music usually is. Which means that it's written from many different perspectives.

In this song, The first half is from the view of a detective. The second half is from the perspective of an abusive manipulator.

The detective reports to the scene, and the first half ends with them dealing with their corrupt superiors while the criminal is on the run and setting up his next move. The song finishes with the criminal telling the victim that all they had to do was leave, but it's too late by that point because everything abusive that the manipulator wanted to do to their abductee had already happened and they had already become their victim.
