Die Nuss by DJ Fucks Himself & Mathis Ruffing (feat. $ombi)
Since first surfacing on Opium Hum’s radio show in 2020, this track has definitely taken the scenic route towards release, but captivated those who heard it along the way.
The original demo was produced by RAIDERS’ DJ Fucks Himself with the free trial of a synth plugin which only allowed 30 minutes of use. This prevented further tinkering with the main melody which, as it turns out, was for the best.
$ombi got hooked on that hypnotic melody and quickly wrote lyrics for the track. “Du bist die Nuss, die ich knacken muss” means: “You are the nut I have to crack”. Partially inspired by an obscure children’s song, the lyrics are all about patience and persistence in love. In spite of all this, one ingredient was still missing. Enter: Mathis Ruffing.
The talented producer, who has been part of the extended Raiders family forever, took a gander at the project with fresh ears and boiled the track down to its catchy core. It morphed into a Pop-adjacent sexy hit that inspired hundreds of “ID?” requests over the last summer, and is now yours to drop on unsuspecting dancefloors!
