Balalaika is a Russian and Belarusian folk stringed plucked musical instrument with a triangular or oval—shaped body, having from three to six strings. The characteristic techniques of sound production are rattling and tremolo — blows with the index finger on all strings at the same time.
As it is also sometimes called – the "daughter" of domra, although there is also a hypothesis that the balalaika did not arise after domra, but existed simultaneously with her. Followers of this theory believe that domra was an instrument of professional buffoons and forgot it because of the disappearance of these singers. But the balalaika, as a purely folk instrument, and, consequently, more resilient, survived.
The metallic sonorous sound of the timbre of the balalaika is explained by the fact that its strings are metal. Do not think that in our time the balalaika is undeservedly forgotten. Yes, it is no longer as popular as in ancient times, but it is also used by modern musicians.
Inspired by a groovy and positive melody, I decided to add to it powerful breakbeat drums, synths, bass and a pinch of dark atmosphere with throat singing. I kneaded all this thoroughly, left the balalaika as the main instrument in the track and that's what happened in the end...
Drive, emotions, energy and a powerful breakbeat and bass combined with the folk instrument balalaika. A couple of tracks in a similar genre, but without a folk instrument – as a bonus.
