The closing whisper of *Aftertide* arrives like dawn light filtering through water. When we recorded "Anabranch Reprise," our hydrophones captured the subtle moment a receding tide leaves shallow pools - each becoming its own miniature ecosystem before the waters return.

Juxtaposing fragile melodica lines against the structural certainty of the bass, we've created something that breathes between endings and beginnings. Those echoing claves you hear? We recorded them in the same boathouse where we began the album, but this time with windows open to capture birdsong filtering through morning mist.

Aidan from Tidal Systems joined us for this final session, bringing field recordings collected during recovery phases of bleached reefs. Their contributions appear as nearly imperceptible textures that rise between the melodic fragments we've borrowed from earlier tracks.

This reprise explores how memory functions within ecosystems - not as nostalgia but as coded information passed through generations of living organisms. The water-warmed tape degradation represents something we've come to understand about resilience: survival often happens through imperfect repetition.

Six months into recording *Aftertide*, we discovered new techniques for embedding field recordings within the harmonic structure itself. Here, those techniques reach their fullest expression - no longer separating the "natural" from the "musical" but allowing them to become indistinguishable parts of the same breathing system.

We paint underwater maps with bass that sinks as deep as the Mariana Trench. Our sonic textures—rippling delay, filtered slow motion, hydrophone-captured reef chatter—tell stories of living coral worlds no human eyes truly see.
