The Consciousness by Austen/Scott

Rejected welcome back UK duo Austen/Scott to follow-up their label debut ‘Supernatural’ that dropped at the beginning of last year. ‘The Consciousness EP’ conveys the state of being aware of an external object or something within oneself, the duo regularly using meditation techniques prior to entering their studio time.

‘Version 1’ doubles mind-bending synths with a hypnotic vocal sample; stripped back percussion across a pounding warehouse-ready kick. ‘Version 2’ is a more trance-like affair with sustained strings and evolving stabs bringing insurmountable tension.

‘Beyond Thought’ is a delicate work with subtle low-fi atmospheres, tight rides and detuned claps that bring it together nicely.
