Insecurity
Dressed up like a preacher
On a Sunday morning
They tell you what to believe
Arms around you holding,
Loving you can’t break free
It’s a cult of harmony
With the times

But I won’t be caught in this tribe
Of lies
Your media can’t scare me
Your pseudoscience won’t stop my convictions they run deeper than your
Fashions
They aren’t scared of your threats
Or of your rising tide
But I’ll admit the loneliness does
Seem disconcerting sometimes

No one’s really out to get you
It’s just a victim mentality
That you play with in your head
To justify your feelings

He spent the first four years trying to get clarity
And the next 10 years trying to get some relief
But what you don’t say that you believe
Will always fade away

Sometimes I can’t see
How this could be wrong or
How this could be right it
Becomes so confusing
The more you try to make sense
The more you try to clarify it’s
A monstrosity
To be real

And if you ever see a sign
Show me
I don’t have much to go on
When everyone is dead there is a
Time to suffer quietly
But I’m tired
Of putting up with evil
That masquerades as holy
And I look to you for comfort
Even as I’m rotting

No one’s really out to get you
We just want to show you the truth
So give up all you know
And let us slowly brainwash you

He spent the first four years just seeking the truth
And the next 10 years trying to forget what he knew but
What’s lost is gone and there will be
An answer in the demons
And all the people gather around the fire
And they burn the heretics on the pyre
What you don’t know is this only a
Cycle of the play

And in the next few years I’ll strive to believe
And in the next lifetime I’ll see all my deeds
I will not confess myself
A stifler of revival
