Fossils by Roberto Pianca Trio feat. Sophia Tomelleri & Rafael Schilt
Guitarist Roberto Pianca's first trio record is also his first record with a purely acoustic lineup: classical guitar, double bass and drums, joined by saxophonists Sophia Tomelleri and Rafael Schilt. The record is inspired by the phenomenon of musical "imprinting," the first musical experiences as a child. The repertoire includes original music by the bandleader and a selection of songs.

Born 1984, guitarist/composer Roberto Pianca studied music at the Amsterdam Conservatory (NL). He has played and worked with a variety of notable artists including Joey Baron, Russ Lossing, John O’Gallagher, Thomas Morgan, Dado Moroni, Pietro Tonolo and Savina Yannatou a.o. In 2008 he founded avantgarde trio Third Reel, the band joined prestigious and legendary german label ECM Records.
