Wishing Well from Lucky Man by Rob Findlay & The Helping Profession
A wistful, dreamy pop song I wrote many years ago during a time of deep depression that strangely seems optimistic now.
I recorded it many years ago on another EP then it was reimagined by the wonderful & much lamented Richard Lane on his Rosebuds play the Passion Revue Album.
After Richard passed I revived the song with the Helping Profession and we play it in the style he did with some added musical sections that occurred to me later.

drifting Sea, faster than you can go ,
toss me in, where the waters know
deep below, where the current’s strong
washed away, back to where I belong
Slowly you drift out of sight
tossed like a coin from the sky
It’s a lonely glint of silver down below

far away, from the maddening throng
clinging to rocks, just to be swept along
dreaming, times when you used to fly
