ROKIN-DAMRAK by Santa Fe Sir Kal

It seems that we are back in Amsterdam again.
Rokin-Damrak is a concept album made only with 12bit sounds.
We are about 12bit because it sounds dirty, deep and real.
That’s no computer music made with the same software that everybody is using.
Only live music.

That’s no emulation of dirty sounds, but real instruments coming from the late 80’s to the early 90’s.
MPC60 was a revolution, 90’s hip hop music was born with Roger Lynn. Now it is called Boom Bap, and Boom Bap is the roots of my work, even if it sounds Jazzy or not even Hip Hop sometimes. Boom Bap is still here.
90’s are alive, all is mixed up with Jazz, Latino, Ethnic music and analog Sounds .
I am using an MK2, of course still the same along the years, an MPC60 mark II like you know who, 2 Akai S950 for samples and an Akai S900 for Basses (using tone program).
All samples are directly coming from old dirty Vinyls, nothing is chopped before.
Also use an SPL Charisma on the beat and my dude Mr Mindprint DTC (which is my favorite channel strip ever) directly with S950.
Original 12bit and tube sounds, you won’t find no other album like Rokin-Damrak.
It is respectful, I am not trying to make you listen another mainstream music but a piece of art which is breathing Stedelijk and NDSM.
