Arkivo by Umpio
This is the first physical form of this noise travelogue album.
Originally released on Bandcamp in 2014, and still there, with sources
recorded on streets and airports in Mexico and Denmark, then mangled and assembled at home in Finland, Arkivo is a mindstretching collage of dark sounds related to travelling: restless streets, huge waiting halls, ugly bus and tram stations, filthy hostel mattrasses, delicious foods and
constant visual bombardment. Even the scanning of a passport is
included. Is it a safety copy, or are there new copies circulating in
south america now?
The track order was rearranged to fit on tape, but all in all it's
the same material. Hard to say if this is old or modern.
