diamond night by secat
cosma wouldn't braid her hair like this for any old occasion; tonight was special. she and her enemies (the older galaxies; rogue stars; disgruntled celestial beings) were gathered together to dance under the supple glow of the Rhinestone Comet as its passage illuminated the decks of her space station. the comet would circle them for as long as it pleased, basking in their reverie as they bathed in its light. a party with an ending, but certainly not a beginning.
welcome to diamond night. there won't be a night like this again for another 3,000 years.

SANS CATTIE-SPEAK: hello! "diamond night" is a companion / expansion / reimagining of the "cardboard house" concepts collected in my december 2020 release, "fun at the boardwalk!" it is a deeply personal, club-adjacent journey through my greatest inspirations and ideals in dance music. inside, you'll find many wonderful toplines, meaty bass riffs, and catchy vocal slices, with flavors of juke ("estroextacy"), deep house ("off the ground"), and good ol' outsider-y static-drenched SECAT-brand low fidelity ("watching U"). as you might already have noticed, this is my longest project yet by a significant margin; you can think of it as a double album, if you'd like. i hope you enjoy.
