"Inspired by the rumours of Derek Bailey's time playing along to Jungle on late night pirate radio, I set about trying a series of electronic improvisations to whatever music was knocking around.

My friend Ximes had sent me some recent work so that became the playground for a few new methods I had picked up when performing live in the months before lockdown. I had recently discovered the works of Carlos Garnett and was inspired again (as I was by Mingus as a youth) at a music that effortlessly combined wild improvisation with celebratory rhythms.

The resulting musics form some kind of hybrid. At once a parallel score to Ximes' widescreen majesty and also an attempt at bringing some kind of meditative explorations of rhythm, chance, violence and love as a tribute to Garnett's furious protest music that compels you to rise up, stand up, and dance."
