"The original proposition for this release was an offer from Sensory leakage to collect some of my previously self-released tracks and give them a bit of a second innings, so to speak. I had been feeling that some tracks I had spent a lot of time working on had gone under the radar... getting lost somewhere in the Bandcamp aether... Naturally, I jumped at the chance to have some of them presented as a collection by one of my favourite labels.
"As it happened, in the process of pulling a few tracks together to make a sort of mixtape and deciding to do just a little reworking of them, I got carried away and ended up using the combined material as the basis for a whole new composition altogether. Happily, this gives some older material a second life as well as bringing it up to date with my more recent releases.
"As usual, my approach is a purely aesthetic one – the music isn’t about anything other than the experience of listening to it. If only a few others will find that experience a worthwhile one, that’s good enough for me." – DS
