Chemical Film by Sermons By The Devil

In the world of precision industrial machining, Chemical Film is a coating on metal that provides a consistent finish and a resistance to wear on mechanical parts. In many applications, a finish on metal is designed to be relatively invisible as it protects, but Chem Film is specifically color tinted to allow anyone in the production process to know that something has been done to a part. During the sessions which resulted in the tracks of this album, my goal was to create music that had some of the same underlying structures and sound preferences that i normally gravitate toward but which were also openly experimental as well. I tried to push, filter and manipulate my sound sources as far and as flexibly as I could, and the end result is my most experimental collection of music to date. The world is becoming more and more harsh and mechanical, and I wanted to color that experience with something intentionally bewildering and beautiful. TRH
