holobiont by sevenism
the concept of an organism is a weird one. it's not simple if you zoom in.
multicellular organisms evolved from separate organisms joining up.
a colony of ants is an organism, an ant is also an organism.
humans could not survive without the organisms living symbiotically within, aiding with digestion.
One definition of an organism is a system with more cohesion than conflict. we're a social species, isolation is so damaging, we could say that a couple, a family, a community is an organism.
