When butterflies dance around each other they seem connected like double helices, bound in complex centres of gravity.
We were driving and I saw a magpie flying close to the front of the car, then as my perception switched, it was actually a pair of butterflies against tree cover and dappled light.
We never see anything. We just perceive what, usually, is a fair approximation of physical reality.
