GOD?AWFUL by Nmesh
Nmesh's music has been lauded throughout his years present within the vaporwave scene. The attention paid to his releases has always been well deserved, a mixture of experimentalism and affinity for nostalgia mixing well enough to create an artist that all levels of listeners can enjoy. Those digging into the genre from the surface pull themselves deeper in more complex sounds with his work, and it is fine-tuned enough to impress those viewing it from underneath those murky waters.
GOD?AWUL, however, is unlike most of the releases that listeners will be familiar with. Released around the turn of the decade before he would rise into this heavy appraisal, its musings combine IDM-influenced beats, enthusiasm for brutal film, loose fragments of metal, ambient, and hip hop, plus inspired artistry that manages to produce what is, undoubtedly, another masterpiece to hang up with the likes of Dream Sequins and Pharma. Only a run on sentence could describe the lengths to which it performs.
Approach this monstrosity of musicality if you dare, because you'll certainly come out much more finely tuned than before.
