Earth | Jord by Sinewave Collective

Jord|Earth is a 10 track concept album featuring 11 artists, including familiar names such as RefraQ, Ekcle, Evoke and is uniquely based around the element of Earth. This is the first release from the collective, and we’ve made an emphasis on changing the way the audience experience music. Jord|Earth is an attempt to fill some of the “artistic gaps” in the electronic music scene today. We want to reconnect listeners with more than just “dancefloor bangers”, and give them something stands out as an artistic, thought-through, developed and truly unique listening experience. So in this instance, “Jord | Earth” is not reserved to any specific genre, and crosses the realms from bass heavy music and into more light & ambient/chillout future sounds.

Each artist on the compilation has submitted their tunes, with their own concepts in mind. This has then been “knitted” together, to form a fluid, overarching story which tells a journey of the two energies that created the planet (Yin & Yang, positive & negative) and trying to portray life through their perspective. We wanted to lead people into thinking it was about a relationship, but if you read between the lines - you’ll notice that they experience things and feelings, out of this world. We then later reveal that these two individuals in fact isn’t two people, but spirits/energies.

It is also worth mentioning that within each track, there is a deeper meaning from the artists perspective which tells of human and natural interaction. Thus each individual track serves its own independent purpose, as well as the album as a whole. Along with the concept, we worked with graphic designers and professional writers to curate animations and written stories for “key” tracks on the compilation.

There is a lot of depth to this album, and there is an opportunity for the audience to delve deeper into the metaphors, and hidden meanings within each track.
