Wild Euphonies by Sirius

This album is the fruit of a collaboration between a human and a young cat : Sirius plays keyboards, then I add vocals, guitar, and various arrangements to his mercurial compositions.
Be prepared to hear dissonance.

Why do I collaborate on a music project with a cat?

Because it is a lot of fun, for sure, but also because the cat is so unpredictable that I never know what a track will sound like until it is finished. I have to be highly creative, open-minded, and adaptive. Harmony rules are constantly shaken up, if not completely swept away. Very often, I have to look for euphony in the thick of chaos.

Just like us humans, cats skill up over the years: give them time, and they will become better hunters, better climbers... or better keyboardists. Sirius was ten months old when he started making music. Now that he is six years old, he is pretty amazing.
I didn't play piano at all in this album. Any piano bit you hear was played by Sirius's paws.

I have been making music with cats since 2009. When I listen to the tracks I have recorded with my feline partners, I often get the impression that my parts were played by someone else.
That is what I find so wonderful with Catcore: I'm not in control.

Sirius is a young cat who enjoys making music with his human. He plays keyboards, sings, and occasionally uses his scratching post as a percussion instrument.
