Toer Populair is a sound unit (duo) from Tokyo, Japan. Inspired by everything '82 - '86 - and Dutch bicycles, Toer Populair makes music with a keen eye for details conjuring up an irony-free, lavish drum-machine and synthesizer based atmosphere that could have been taken from a romantic mid-80's montage with people dressed in bright synthetic fabric heading for their cubicles, all perfect hair and puffy shoulder pads.
The lush electronic arrangements are recorded crystal clear and the charming details and catchy melodies on Acclimated Stranger stand out like eye-popping candy sprinkled with just a pinch of melancholic drizzle.
