Rough Sentience by Slava Dyadyun and Meltdownlove
Rough Sentience is a collaborative album by Slava Dyadyun (production, guitar) and Meltdownlove // Demian Feriy (guitar, art & visuals) about digital sentimentality. On the web, in the digital environment, we are already used to expressing emotions and experiences by certain signs, combinatorial language of pictures, text, sounds. Transmit and encode fairly complex ideas without bothering with excessive quality and distortion. Distortions themselves become part of the language of expression. Like memes like "Content aware scale", "Evil Be Like...", screenshots from video games with little polygonal graphics. It is logical to assume that aesthetic findings are beginning to be used to express more subtle and sentimental experiences, impressions, aesthetics. The album includes hyper-pop, idm, glitch, chill-wave, vaporwave, indietronic influences. The cover art and all the videos for the release were made on a phone (inspired by internet animation in Mad Skills style), with the goal of visualizing the music with minimal technical means. The track Naive Droid Soul was also created with the participation of electronic musician Vlad Suppish.
