"'HTN' is like a dreampop and doom metal / post-rock amalgam, as thunderous guitar, grinding bass, and pulverizing drums give way to glistening shoegaze whenever Torres delivers his distraught, Jeremy Enigk-meets-Ken Stringfellow vocals. On the flip's 'Albatross,' Torres' luminous, Radiohead-like guitar melody lazily draws you in, before his languorous, apprehensive croon—punctuated by Hemingway's relentless high-hat and cymbal smacks—methodically builds to a fevered, Enigk-esque (think "Shade and the Black Hat") shriek."
