Sagittarius A* by Sleepwait
Sleepwait are an italian alternative rock duo, consisting of an evolutionary biologist (Filippo Bravi - vocals) and a mechanical engineer (Mauro Chiulli - guitar, bass, drums).
Sagittarius A* is their debut album; it contains 12 original tracks, spacing from aggressive rock anthems filled with mathematical drum patterns a la Tool and post-hardcore Mastodontic guitars riffs to calmier, ethereal and evocative prayers for our Mother Earth, as well as intimate acoustic ballads in the wake of Alice In Chains “Jar of Flies”.
The band was born in 2015, when Mauro and Filippo knew each other through a webportal for musicians. Due to the 300 km between their hometowns, the record has been developed during the following 4 years working completely on distance, fully relying on each other self commitment and devotion to the project. Instrumental parts were written, arranged and recorded by Mauro in his MCL home studios in Bologna, while vocals were first tracked and recorded by Filippo in Udine, and then refined during the final arrangements sessions held together in summer 2019, when the album was finally released.
Anticipated by two videos (the title track and The Right Hand of Beauty) Sagittarius A* is now available on Bandcamp, Spotify, iTunes, Youtube and all the other major streaming platforms.
