Celeste by Slow Haste
'Celeste' is a brief collection of instrumental electronic songs written and recorded in Vermont and Maine during 2023-2024. Spanning from dreamy house music to wistfully twisted guitar loops, the arrangements of 'Celeste' expand and contract with layers of dusty synths, distorted melodic swells, and found-sound samples ranging from the ocean to the kitchen. Juergens established a hardware-centric production flow with his 2023 LP 'Cinnamon'; 'Celeste' further refines this process with a heavier focus on software manipulation, yielding a denser, more cohesive sound.
The EP features a suite of three beat-driven tracks bookended by ethereal instrumentals on either side - the bold and bracing tape saturated synth vignette "Winter Clothes" to open, and a peaceful, jittery layered guitar meditation "Wishing Well" to close.
