Lost Album by Snake River
Snake River's sixth album, LOST ALBUM was partially recorded in a former Church in rural Saskatchewan. The album doesn't necessarily reflect this, other than the fact that the sonics of this record are much different - all previous albums have been recorded in basements and rehearsal spaces. The cover of this album reflects the spirit of the recordings themselves - the songs are janglier and poppier and a little more surreal than some of their previous work. All of these elements were a part of their 2018 record, TREAD ON TO THE UNKNOWN YOU, but have now been expanded upon. One of the key new ingredients for this record was the viola of Amber Pb, something that was only hinted at on the last record.
The lyrics continue the story of Snake River Mountain, and some of its residents. Reginald McKruski of course is here, so is his wife Jeanie, as is their cat, Gerard, the cat. The characters however, have taken more control of their own fates, and the narrator of this story has lost control of his creations. He worries about what havoc they may create.
