I’m searching for locus
The where, the how, the smell
Of rising moisture in decay
There’s no reversing waste,
We have to feed from it
The future is thriving out of
Digested swallows of badlands
This here resilience

You have what it takes but
The trouble digs deep within
So you fill the dark days
Judging your mates and your kin

You think you must conquer,
Assemble all on your own
A fabric of bodies below you
In order to soar

But I’m here,
Holding your hand
Through all of the pain
The best that I can
Your words hurt
And I might have to let go
Hope I don’t have to though
I see
The kindness below
The armor you show
When you feel uncared-for

That you’ll come back down to us
