Sonic & Mayito by Sonic & Mayito

The very first debut album that started it all. Made and recorded using pieces of sampled Roland instruments from the 1980's and multiple elements in 2019. I wanted to start off with some old school vibes by sampling songs back from the day and from 2010 as the days as a pre-teen, let's say 1970 and 1980 maybe.

There was a program I used called Mixcraft to sample some beats, and I want this album to be perfect, and flawless.

I start off working on the songs that got so many plays like Window Pains bringing a vocal sample of Grandmaster Flash's break mixing tutorial from 1983 on the day where hip hop is being developed by the coolest old school rappers in Detroit, New York, Chicago, everywhere.

Then there was Hedgehog Love where I did vocals on the track, which got so many plays on it too. This time, I thought I would improve on the song by changing the melody to a fresh new one.

The next song that got me addicted to was Chord Confusion. I sampled Minds of Faith's Show Me Love and played the chord shot on my sampler. Then, I did vocals afterwards. Including a vocal acapella sample of Petria's, I Miss Your Love.

Next song I then try to make is Evicted, where it tells a story of a 1,000-year-old vampire, currently permanent as a young teenager who had a passion between, rock and roll, and minimal synth pop. It did okay with unique players and listeners who completely listened to the song as it overlapped to the next track Out of My Mind, sampling a shot from Bobby Bill Devoe's Poison, and Parliament's Mothership Connection. This time, I improvised on two of these tracks by adding old school breaks thanks to some old school break mixers who inspired me to do all the hard work.

The last song I worked on that came off with a melody I've both watched and listened to from the miniseries Stakes in Adventure Time was Everything Stays. I wanted to come up an abstractive melody version of the song by adding strings and classical synths from some soundtrack records.

The other tracks I've worked on were some loops I edited out, reversed, sped, and changed each tempo to give it good feelings. I thought I was going to fall on the floor very flat, like I became exhausted working a 14-track piece album. It got me into good stuff I've never seen before!

I found cool VST plugins such as the KORG Wave Station where it got every patch inside for me to use. The KORG was used by many Techno artists such as The Future Sound Of London, Orbital, and many others. Using the KORG plugin brings me back to raving years.
