SONOROVETRO by SONOROVETRO

A sheet of glass became, for me, not only a place of (musical) exploration and an interface with the here and now but also a starting point for a fallacious but happily undertaken attempt to understand the Gospel of St John.
For a time the transparency of glass (which both divides and privileges vision) was joined by the voice of Morena.
An expression: "se mi dici il ve(T)ro" was ruminated on and transformed into sound, the words treated like sand, fused in a process where they were to become as brutish as possible so as to offer a pure vision of the world.
That evening then, through the medium of Carlo's live processing, a fragile yet resilient object of sound was blown into form and soiled with intensity.
For more than a decade it laid buried, suspended, waiting to be brought again to the mind's eye.
We are dealing then with a meta-composition, extended over a period of almost 13 years.
Marcellino's work is much more than a remastering or a post production. His role was that of an archeologist-alchemist, in search of beauty and truth. He excavated and scoured this performative fragment, discovering both old and new elements. Unexpected glimpses and views are revealed as one listens. The sound is now more transparent than it was that summer night and crystal-like it reveals our profound intentions and tells us who we are. Dionisio

* Playing with words and graphic characters, the word vet[r]o can be read as vetro (glass) or, without “t”, “il vero”, meaning "the trouth". Morena sang “Se mi dici il vetro”, a sort of apparentely non sense sentence “if you tell me the glass”. But you can imagine the several deep meanings of it.
