Spongetunnel was a Chicago band from 1986 to 1989. A merger of members of two earlier bands - Mark and Ron from Sponge and Russ from Fudgetunnel. They released one album and one 7" on Underdog Records. Mark left to play in Green. Russ played in Tasty Bush and has released a lot of solo recordings as Rakehell. Ron went on to Milk Inc., Beardicus Enormous (w/Mark) and the Thirsty Pirates in NYC.
